Create Your Own Moon Garden

There are those of of us who enjoy the silence of a moon lit night. Now imagine being able to enjoy a garden full of flowers that only blooms at night.

How cool would that be?

Well today we are here to say that you can have a garden that blooms during the full moon. All you need is a little know how, some flowers that bloom at night, and a green thumb or a moon thumb in this case. The plants in the picture below are called “moonflowers” and for a good reason. They only bloom during a moon lit night.

There are some species of moonflowers that are very poisonus so you just have to keep that in mind. Another thing to keep in mind when planting these flowers is the season that you’re trying to grow them in. There are flowers for the Spring, Summer, and Fall. So you have to do some research on which flowers you want to plant and when you want to plan them.

There’s also other ideas you can utilize like using some type of glow ball, maybe a string of lights, something that will accent the garden even more. You can get super creative and even use glitter or glass in abstract ways to enhance your garden. Check out the video below we found by Growveg for some cool ideas on how to create your own garden.

The Stephen King Tour

There’s an official Stephen King tour, and you won’t find any other like this one in the world. This tour actually takes you to places where King drew inspiration and spent a lot of time for his horror masterpieces. Many of them you would recognize as the filming locations for his adaptations. If you’ve ever wondered what the real ‘Derry’ and the infamous sewer Pennywise came out of, now is your chance.

The tour takes place in the town of Bangor Maine. It’s the actual location for the fictional Derry in King’s “It.” There are other locations in the town that many fans will recognize in his other movies and work. The tour takes pretty much all morning and part of the early afternoon and it costs around $45 per person.

Calling All Witches!

There’s huge witch festival taking place next weekend, March 7th 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Austin, Texas. You can come in black robes, witch hats, and bring brooms if you like.  The “Witchfest” is taking place at Joudan-Bachman Pioneer Farms and has a lot of room for the various activities they plan on having. The cost is $5 dollars and you can get your tickets through Eventbrite.

The day will be full of various workshops, entertainment, rituals, demonstrations and anything witch related. They’re also going to have entertainment for the kids like bounce houses, carnival attractions, face painting and more.

While the festival is fun for people of all ages, it also has an educational side to it as well. There are a lot of demonstrations and relations on popular misconceptions about witches. So the thought that all witches are evil and they only like to conjure up demons and evil isn’t right. A trip to Austin may clear up a lot of your question. So if you’re in the Austin, Texas area and need something to do, the Austin Witchfest is a must see!
