A Green Comet Will Light Up The Night Sky This Weekend

The Swan Comet

If you love looking at the night sky, take a look just before down or a little after the sun goes down and you should see a comet with a bit of green in it streaking across the sky.

The comet dubbed “Swan” already has passed Earth, so those of you who are scared it may just take us out you don’t have worry about it. The comet is currently approaching the sun and is a bit hard to see, but it has a faint greenish circular glow behind it.

If you’re wondering when the best time to see the comet is, it’s between now and Monday, although some areas will be able to see it until June.  But don’t get too excited because if you’re looking for something insane in the night sky, you’re going to be disappointed.

The best way to see it is with a pair of binoculars. The comet is mostly made up of gas so it won’t be as bright as others that have passed. It will look more like a fuzz ball than anything to human eye. So having a pair of binoculars and possibly a good telescope you’ll be able to see the comet in the night sky.

Will you be looking up towards the sky this coming weekend? Let us know your thoughts or if you have caught any pictures of the comet.
