The Haunted History of Jerome

Jerome, Arizona is a town with a rich and haunted history. Once a booming copper mining town in the late 1800s, Jerome was known for its wild and lawless reputation. With a population of over 15,000 people during its peak, the town was home to brothels, saloons, and gambling dens. However, as the mines began to dry up, the town’s population dwindled, leaving behind a ghostly past that still lingers today.

Many of the buildings in Jerome are said to be haunted by the spirits of former residents and miners. The Connor Hotel, built in 1898, is one such location. It is believed that the ghost of a former prostitute named ‘Working Girl’ haunts the hotel’s third floor. Guests have reported hearing strange noises, feeling cold spots, and even seeing apparitions.

Another haunted location in Jerome is the Jerome Grand Hotel. Originally built in 1926 as a hospital, the building has since been converted into a hotel. Many guests have reported seeing the ghost of a former patient wandering the halls, while others have heard unexplained noises and seen objects move on their own.

The town’s cemetery is also said to be a hotbed of paranormal activity. Visitors have reported seeing ghostly apparitions and hearing strange noises coming from the gravesites. One of the most famous ghosts said to haunt the cemetery is that of a miner named ‘Headless Charlie’. According to legend, Charlie was decapitated in a mining accident and now roams the cemetery looking for his missing head.

Overall, Jerome, Arizona is a town steeped in history and haunted by the ghosts of its past. Whether you’re a believer in the paranormal or not, a visit to this spooky town is sure to send chills down your spine.

The Haunted Buildings Of Jerome, Arizona

Anyone who has been to Jerome will tell you there isn’t a place that isn’t haunted. One of the most famous places is the Jerome Grand Hotel. The hotel used to be a hospital that many said was cursed because of fires and all of the problems it faced. There were a lot of deaths that happened there, even decades later in the 1980s. A caretaker who watched the place due to vandalism committed suicide there. What could have led that person to do that? Some believe it was some kind of force within the confines of the location that pressured him to do it. It wasn’t until the mid-90s that the hotel was created. It’s now known for being the most haunted hotel in Arizona and for a good reason.

This Terrifying Haunted West Virginia Asylum Was Built On Haunted 666 Acres Of LandThis Terrifying Haunted West Virginia Asylum Was Built On Haunted 666 Acres Of Land

The Worlds Most Haunted Asylum

Weston, West Virginia’s Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum is said to be one of the most haunted locations in West Virginia. It’s been featured on paranormal shows like Ghost Adventures and Ghost Hunters. The massive complex was built in the mid to late 1800s and served as an asylum for people with mental disorders of all kinds. The asylum is the largest hand-cut stone masonry built complex in the United States.

The asylum was originally intended to be a place of refuge for the mentally ill, but it quickly became overcrowded and understaffed. Patients were often subjected to inhumane treatment, including being restrained in cages and subjected to electroshock therapy.

In the early 1900s, the asylum underwent significant renovations to improve patient care. However, it continued to operate until 1994 when it was closed due to changing attitudes towards mental health treatment.

Today, the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum is a popular tourist destination and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can take guided tours of the facility and learn about its history and the treatment of mental illness throughout the years.

The most terrifying part is that it sits on 666 acres of land. I don’t think it was intentionally planned on being built this way, but it’s still rather creepy. Like most old asylums, things ended up going south with a quickness. The asylum ended up being a dumping ground for poor families. They would send people those they couldn’t take care of or afford to regardless of their mental state.

RELATED

Visitors to the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum have reported numerous ghostly encounters over the years. Some of the most commonly reported hauntings include the apparition of a nurse who roams the halls, the sound of footsteps and voices coming from empty rooms, and the feeling of being watched by unseen entities.

One of the most famous ghost stories associated with the asylum is that of a patient named Ruth, who was said to have been locked in a room and left to die. Visitors have reported feeling a strong presence in the room where Ruth died, and some have even claimed to have seen her ghostly figure standing in the corner.

Another popular ghost story involves the spirit of a young girl named Lily, who is said to haunt the fourth floor of the asylum. Visitors have reported hearing the sound of a child’s laughter and seeing the image of a little girl playing with a ball.

In addition to these specific ghost stories, many visitors to the asylum have reported feeling an overall sense of unease and dread while exploring the building. Some have even claimed to have experienced physical sensations such as cold spots, sudden drops in temperature, and the feeling of being touched by unseen hands.

Whether or not you believe in ghosts, there’s no denying that the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum has a rich and eerie history that continues to fascinate visitors to this day.

In the past, locations like this asylum were almost always “self-sufficient” when it came to everything. So the outside world wouldn’t know what was going on behind closed doors. However, stories of mistreatment and terrible conditions started to get out. It was so bad that it was compared to a torture chamber. They were understaffed and the staff they did have weren’t all the best of people. Trans-Allegheny was known for being extremely dangerous. Numerous murders and deaths happened throughout the decades.

The Galvez Hotel, located in Galveston, Texas, has a rich history dating back to its opening in 1911. The hotel was named after Bernardo de Galvez, a Spanish military leader who played a significant role in the American Revolution. The Galvez Hotel quickly became a popular destination for wealthy travelers and celebrities, with its luxurious amenities and prime location on the Gulf of Mexico.

However, the hotel faced challenges throughout its history, including damage from the devastating Hurricane of 1900 and the economic struggles of the Great Depression. Despite these setbacks, the Galvez Hotel persevered and continued to attract guests from all over the world.

In recent years, the Galvez Hotel has undergone extensive renovations to restore its historic charm while also incorporating modern amenities. Today, it remains a beloved landmark in Galveston and a testament to the city’s rich history.

Galveston, Texas Galvez Hotel is a beautiful place to see and stay at. During the early 1900’s it was dubbed “The Playground of the Southwest”. It was primarily visited and utilized by the rich and elite. But, only 11 years after it was built, a monster hurricane killed 6,000 plus residents.

Would You Buy A Haunted House?

If you were house hunting and had the chance to BUY a haunted house, would you?

If someone gave you the opportunity to live in the house of your dreams for a cheap price, you probably wouldn’t even think about saying no. What if the same house had a history of paranormal activity? What if there was video evidence of something going on within the house that you’re planning on buying, would you still get it? Some of us would say yes, and most of us would probably say no. Check out the video post and let us know what you think.

Buying A Haunted House

There are certain things you have to think about when buying a haunted house. What kind of presence or ghost is actually haunting the house. If it’s a demonic presence, you probably would NOT want to even step foot in that house. Many of you have seen movies where demonic activity spins out of control and claims the lives of the house’s occupants. The other thing you have to think about is your family, you wouldn’t want to place them into a situation where things could get out of hand quickly, would you?

What’s the history behind the house? Did the house some terrible tragedy happen or were there murders or something else? These are also things you have to think about. There could be forms of residual energy playing like an old movie. Then again the hauntings could be more menacing and aware of the living. That’s when things might get out of control with no way back.

Do you Have To Disclose Whether A House Is Haunted Or Not

Have you ever wondered if you had to disclose whether your house is haunted or not? Phenomena stigma, it’s wherein many jurisdictions but not all have to disclose whether your house has some ghostly stuff going on. Are there people who have a haunted house that DON’T disclose it? I’m certain this happens all of the time however, this could get a bit messy if the ghosts or entitles in the house are malevolent. I don’t know about the legal actions behind this, I guess it just depends on the state and area you live in.

Sometimes people are oblivious to the fact that they have some kind of entity residing within their home. They may live for years in a place that has paranormal activity going on and not bat an eye. They may dismiss it as an old house that creaks and cracks a lot and nothing more. But what about when the phenomenon takes a turn for the worse? We don’t understand what goes on in the afterlife so we don’t know how it all works. So one person may think there’s nothing wrong with the house when in fact it may be bad for the next person.

To Buy A Haunted House Or Not

Ultimately the decision is yours when it comes to buying a house that’s haunted or not. If a house is haunted and you’ve heard stories that the house is haunted and you buy it, it’s on you. You have to think about who is moving in the house with you and how it will affect them as well. What may not affect you may be bad for someone else that’s moving into the house as well. Children, the elderly, people with mental problems, and so on can be affected by these entities or ghosts in certain situations. So at the end of the day think about the implications that something like this may have on you and your family.

The Ouija Board – A Device For Evil Or Just A Game? The Ouija Board – A Device For Evil Or Just A Game?

Is The Ouija Board A Game?

“Ouija, The Wonderful Talking Board,” was first seen in advertisements in the year 1891. Even a paper out of New York said the Ouija board was ‘”interesting, mysterious, and testified,” something that was considered fun and the highlight of the night in those times. Nothing has really changed in all these years expect the board is made of cardboard instead off wood. The planchette is also plastic instead of wood, other than that it’s never changed.

The crazy part is that no one really knows the full history and where the board actually came from. What we do know is the board popped up in the 19th century, an era that was abundant with spiritualism and contacting the other side. A well known duo by the name of the Fox sisters made usage of the board popular. Their claims of being able to communicate with the other side made the idea of it all intriguing to a lot of people. This was during a time where people didn’t live very long. So a lot of people were trying various ways to hold their own seances and open communications with the other side. But was it all fun and games, or was there something far more sinister happening all over the United States? ‘

Is The Ouija Board Evil?

There are many cases of things happening, sinister things after someone uses a the board. In just about all cases, they always come back and say, the biggest mistake they ever made was to mess around with the board in the first place. Could the board be an open communication on a channel frequented only by demonic entitles and dark entities? Could this be a portal to a dark realm that we don’t know about. It’s odd how no one really knows the real and true origins of the Ouija. We only know who introduced it and around the time it was first introduced. So could there be a sinister origin, one of trickery as a hidden curse disguised as some pseudo gift to the world?

The Device To Talk To Spirits

Some claim that the board is nothing more than the mind at work, that we can produce things with our thoughts and intentions. However, there have been so many stories of odd and evil things going on when someone uses the board, it’s hard to dismiss. There were always be those who don’t believe in something unless they have an experience with it. Even then sometimes they don’t believe it and dismiss it at something the mind has produced. However, we have to think about the fact that there is always going to be things in this world that we can’t explain. Our problem as humans is that we think we know all there is to know about life and whatever that happens after, but we don’t.

The Most Haunted Sanatorium In The World

The reason the sickness was so deadly was because of the humid climate. They didn’t have antibiotics back then, so they had to find other ways to help alleviate the pain. The problem was that some of these so-called helpful methods were barbaric. For instance, they would occasionally remove ribs so people could breathe better. The problem with this is that it didn’t help and it only made things worse. Countless people died leaving a stain on the walls of the complex.

RELATED

Thousands of people miserably passed on to the next existence. Some believe all the pain and suffering brought evil entities to Waverly Hills. Numerous people have reported seeing a dark menacing shadow when wandering the halls. Could real evil lurk within the walls watching those who walk around? Entities feeding off of the negative energy that still resides there?

The real question is this…. WOULD YOU STAY THE NIGHT THERE?

The History and Background of Waverly Hills

Waverly Hills Sanatorium was originally built as a tuberculosis hospital in 1910. At the time, tuberculosis was a widespread and deadly disease that had no known cure. The hospital was designed to provide patients with fresh air and sunlight, which were believed to be important for their recovery.

During its operation, Waverly Hills became known for its experimental treatments and procedures, some of which were controversial and painful. Patients were subjected to surgeries, injections, and even electroshock therapy in an attempt to cure their illness.

As the years went on, the development of antibiotics and other medical advancements led to a decline in the need for tuberculosis hospitals. Waverly Hills closed its doors in 1961, but it was later reopened as a geriatric center. However, reports of neglect and abuse led to its closure once again in 1982.

Today, Waverly Hills is known for its dark history and haunted reputation. Many people believe that the spirits of former patients and staff still linger within its walls, making it a popular destination for paranormal investigators and ghost hunters. Despite its troubled past, Waverly Hills remains an important piece of history and a fascinating place to visit for those interested in the paranormal.

Waverly Hills Sanatorium has a dark and eerie history that has led to numerous reports of paranormal activity. One of the most famous hauntings at Waverly Hills is that of a nurse who is said to have hanged herself in Room 502. Another common sighting is that of a little boy playing with a ball in the hallways. It is believed that he was a patient who died at the sanatorium and now his spirit remains. The paranormal activity at Waverly Hills has been documented by various paranormal investigation teams, including the popular TV show Ghost Adventures. The team captured footage of unexplained shadows, EVPs (electronic voice phenomena), and even a full-bodied apparition on camera.

Anyone who ventures into the area will tell you there’s a different type of energy and that the vibe is just off. Others think it’s the fault of devil worshipers and other occult groups that have met in the area.

The area was known as a mafia dumping spot during the prohibition area. If you were taken there by the mob for some reason, it’s almost a sure bet that you wouldn’t be coming back at all. Many believe it was used as a body disposal area by various factions of the Chicago mob. Could a combination of the bloody history and the destruction of the cemetery be the cause for paranormal occurrences?

Proof Of The Paranormal

Some of the most compelling real ghost photos have come out of this area. One of the most well known is that of the sitting woman that was caught by accident. The apparition of the woman is so clear it almost looks like a real woman sitting on the bench. But the ominous glow and transparency gives it that creepy vibe. No one gives off that kind of glow when sitting on a bench. No one has been able to discredit the photo and it remains a mystery until this very day.

There have been other photos as well as videos that have caught some pretty interesting things. There are stories of strange balls of light that are said to move around the woods in the area. Could this be some kind of spiritual energy or something else?

** If you’re thinking about checking this place out be advised that there’s a HUGE police presence in the area. If you’re able to check it out with some kind of permission be RESPECTFUL of the graves and things in the area. The last thing you should be doing is disrespecting the grave stones and the dead that are buried there!
