Pennsylvania’s Most Haunted Hotel
Waterford, Pennsylvania’s Eagle Hotel is no stranger when it comes to paranormal activity. The location is almost 200 years old and has a very rich and vibrant history behind it. It’s now an eatery by the name of Sugar N Spice which is reported to be extremely haunted. The Eagle Hotel was built in 1826 by Thomas King and was a “terminal and distribution point” for the salt industry in New York. The Eagle was documented by the Historic American Building Survey in 1933 and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Hotel was purchased by the Fort Le Boeuf Historical Society in order to protect and preserve it. If you want to know more about them you can see their site here > http://fortleboeufhistory.com/
The hotel’s creepy past is filled with tons of stories since the beginning. There are stories about ghostly apparitions, disembodied voices among many other creepy things. In this video by PSPR Paranormal Pursuit, you’ll see as they explore the grounds of the former haunted hotel which the first floor is now rented out by a restaurant by the name of Sugar N Spice.

I used to live in the building so I know all about it.
I was one of the few people to actually see Matilda. I was decorating the Eagle for Christmas. I went up to get some things from the ballroom, about 2am. As I opened the door there was a silhouette of a young beautiful woman in a long flowing gown. I didn’t decorate the Eagle after midnight after that. She loved to pay tricks on me when I would decorate the lanterns outside. As soon as I would touch them she would turn them off, then turn them back on after I was done. I only experienced michevious encounters with her, but it still surprised me when they happened.
Was the couch you sat on when you felt the spirit pinkish in color? I use to talk to the one spirit on the couch as a small child. She would also visit me in my bedroom which was in the apartment ( it was only one apartment not multiple)
My daughters and I lived here for several years and are well acquainted with the extracurricular activity there. My youngest daughter when she was about 2 or 3 was sitting in the front hallway talking to something. When asked what she was talking to, she looked at us like we were crazy and said “the lady in the black dress.” Have a bunch of stories along that line.
