The Original Hocus Pocus Movie
The iconic classic Halloween movie Hocus Pocus is a favorite for many of us. But how many of you actually knew that the original title was something different? How many of you knew that the story behind it completely changed because of some unwanted rivalry? If you’re a die-hard fan you probably already knew some of this. However, those of you that don’t you’re in for a treat today.

Hocus Pocus, The Timeless Classic
It’s crazy to think that the film’s original product David Kirschner came up for the idea one night on a random happening. He was sitting with his young daughter when a black cat walked by. The idea for the movie instantly popped into his head. However, the original idea was a lot darker. Do you think the dark plot would have been better than the one we have been used to?
Hocus Pocus 2
With the release of Hocus Pocus 2, it caused a massive surge of fans to visit Salem, Massachusetts. There was also a contest where 1 lucky fan would get to stay the night in the Sanderson Sisters cottage. So if you’re planning a quick trip to Salem anytime soon and don’t have any reservations, you may want to go elsewhere. Although some fans may be upset about that news, I’m sure the possibility of a Hocus Pocus 3 movie is keeping them happy!

Many films still in development had very different early concepts. Frozen’s Elsa was originally to be an old school villainess. It’s the finished product that matters. Articles like this are why there are idiots running around convinced there’s a version of Peter Pan where he murders children, and Disney has some unreleased cut of The little Mermaid where her tongue is cut out and she dies, because people don’t grasp that early development stage, or source material isn’t he same as “finished movie.”
And these headlines indicating that a version of the movie with this content exists are clickbaity and misleading.
It’s almost as bad as when fan theories are passed off as fact like “the Rugrats are dead and Angelica imagined it all” or “Ed, Edd, and Eddie is set in the afterlife” and other uncreative edgelordy fan theories. Sorry for the rant. I’m just tired of these things.
