As kids we used to either love clowns or hate them. If we cried they would try to cheer us up with a trick or funny joke. If we cheered them on they would give us a balloon. But when exactly did clowns become such a terrifying thing?
You can’t go to a haunted house without being spooked by a creepy clown. They’re everywhere and they’re even in our movies. Pennywise, The Terrifier, and the list keeps going on. It doesn’t help that one of the most notorious serial killers of all time used to dress up as a clown.
Talk about creepy!

With all the bad rap we do have to give the good clowns credit. There are clowns that aren’t dressed up in those cheap costumes you can buy from those one sites. They went to school for their profession, they are also very good at what they do.
However something like Pennywise can’t always save the reputation of the clown. If you’ve ever wondered how many creepy clowns there aactually are out there, check out the video we found.
